Certified climate performance, measurable impact
CroxX’s inhibitor solutions contribute actively to climate protection by reducing greenhouse gas emissions after fertilizer application. Their carbon footprint has been calculated and verified according to ISO 14067:2018, the international standard for product-level greenhouse gas accounting.
What is a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)?
A Product Carbon Footprint represents the total greenhouse gas emissions associated with a product, expressed as CO₂ equivalents (CO₂-e). It provides a transparent measure of its climate impact and covers all relevant life cycle stages, from raw material extraction to application in the field.
How we calculate the carbon footprint
Our life-cycle approach considers every significant source of greenhouse gases through the product’s life cycle:
How our inhibitors reduce emissions
When conventional fertilizers are applied, nitrogen can be lost as ammonia (NH₃), nitrous oxide (N ₂O), or through nitrate (NO₃-) leaching. Our inhibitors slow down nitrogen-transformation processes, reducing losses at all intermediate stages. As a result, reactive nitrogen is transformed efficiently into plant biomass rather than greenhouse gases, achieving a tangible reduction in CO₂-e emissions.
Your benefits from our certified carbon footprint
Upon request, we provide Product Carbon Footprint Certificates that summarize the key figures and emission reductions achieved with our inhibitors.
